EU Trademark Registration

The European Union (EU) comprises 27 member states. The trademark registered under EU will be protected equally in all EU member states and therefore most enterprises tend to register with EU.

On 31 January 2020, the United Kingdom (UK) officially left the EU. The Brexit transition period (called “transition period”) agreed between the UK and the EU will start on 1 February 2020 and end on 31 December 2020. During the transition period, the EU intellectual property system still applies to the UK until the end of the transition period.
